Whoops. Forgot About The Metal!
We sat on the swing in the park, looking at the stars and talking.
"I'm glad I'm the one sitting here. With you. In the middle of the night," he says, sounding like a dork.
I grin at him. He glances at me and then back again. I slide closer to him, sliding my arms around his waist and resting my head on his shoulder. His arms tenses, but he relaxes and wraps an arm around my shoulders. One of his fingers twists a strand of my hair. I watch as he seems to internally argue with himself. Finally, he looks down at me.
He pulls me around to face him. His hand slides behind my ear, holding my head. His fingertips apply the slightest amount of pressure to the back of my head. His eyes close and he leans forward, his head tilting to the side ever so slightly. We kiss.
When I go pull away, I get pulled back.
"Ow!" I exclaim. We realize what's happened: our braces are stuck. We burst out laughing. He attempts to untangle the braces. After a while of his hopeless attempts, I shoo him away and do it myself. I lean back, still laughing.
"Haha! I can't believe that just happened!" He says, his emerald eyes sparkling.
"Me either!" I reply.
He starts to pull me back to him when he falls over the other side of the swing. I go flying after him, landing on his chest. We burst out in laughter again, not caring that someone just yelled at us to get a room.
