Dear Arthur Dear Arthur, I didn't mean to walk past the cat. I didn't mean to look the cat in the eye. Honestly, it was as though he was hypnotising me. He doesn't have a home. Or a family. He must have been starving hungry. If you knew I was going to fall in love with the cat, why did you give my food to me? How was I to know the cat wasn't alone? I couldn't se any other cats around. It was only a tiny bit of chicken for a tiny cat. Before long, lots of cats thought that I was a nice person unlike SOME people. It wasn't my fault that people were staring. If you should have chucked anyone out, it should have been the strays. I just gave them a little bit of chicken, and then all my steak. So I ask you, please don't ban me from your place. A Bone For Kate Kate didn't like the rain very much. Being a dog, she adored walks and loved to chase the birds and splash in the river close to her home. For a week now, the rain had poured and poured, splattering her favourite window in which she loved to nose on the people across the road. However, nothing made her more upset than watching her favourite bone lay on the patio outside. Kate loved its meaty flavour and large size. The day her owner, Sam, had given it to her, it had been love at first sight. But now, watching it guiltily, Kate felt gutted. Suddenly, a large beefy man wearing pitch black clothing cautiously snuck over to the house. "Funny," Kate muttered under her breath, "Men don't normally come to my house at night!" At that, the man pulled a large gleaming hammer out his pocket and was about the smash the glass window when Kate had a flash of inspiration. "EXCUSE ME" Kate barked to the suspicious looking man, making him almost jump out of his skin. "CAN YOU GET THAT BONE FOR ME!" Suddenly, the man screamed in horror, slipped back over the bone and watched as it sailed through the air and glided neatly through the jagged smash in the window, just at Kate's paws. With that, the man scarpered, leaving Kate alone with the bone. Obviously, if he had known the 'attack dog' had been a fluffy black poodle, he might have thought different. But that didn't matter to Kate. But the only thing that mattered was Kate had her bone back!
