Mamma's Gone Fudge 4 cups of sugar 3/4 cup water 3/4 cup canned cream 1/2 cup of cocoa 3 tablespoons of butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/2 cup of chopped nuts Pinch of salt Bring everything except vanilla, nuts and salt to a boil without stirring and continue until the mixture forms medium-hard balls when dropped in a glass of cold water. Take it off the fire and let it sit without messing With it until it's lukewarm . Now mix in vanilla extract nuts and salt. Beat this until it gets dull looking, then quickly pour into a flat buttered pan and cut into squared before it gets too hard. For peanut-butter fudge, leaves out the cocoa and chopped nuts and put in the 1/2 cup peanut butter.
