I Did Not Know Alone; A scary prospect, But a prospect many face. Best to give it time, they say - A time that never ends, but drags on, Watching, waiting, wondering when Someone might cross your path. Yet all I see are similar faces, Overused personalities, Existence that does not exist; Feeling nothing, Yet wanting to feel. Desire burns, But there is no-one to douse it. I did not know love Until she showed it to me. An unexpected occurrence, Chance realised through Chaos of the universe. Maiden? Angel? Goddess? Yet I was not aware. I continued, for I saw nothing. I followed my mind; I was wrong. All it took was a push. Ignoring everything, The space in my mind Reserved only for her. Worry, despair, terror - Why? The answer has already shown itself. I did not know love Until she gave it to me. Relief, laughter, happiness - What was this? Confusion spreading throughout, Unknown emotions, inconceivable But still trying to understand; In hindsight, It should have been easy. However, there is always struggle. Invisible walls, Imposed beyond control - Almost insurmountable For one like me. I could only hope that I might One day have the strength. She did. She knew. She could tell. And so, the world As it span idly on its lonely axis Let improbable fate take course And brought one to another. I did not know love Until she accepted it from me. That moment. That one moment of honesty. Where everything made sense All at once And yet made no sense. A rift in consciousness; An error in function. Pounding heart, Flushing cheeks. Overloaded, overwhelmed - How am I meant to respond? I don't know; I will never know. I simply go with what feels right, And it makes her happy. I did not know love But now I do.
