Amdantis Part 4
It was a long trek to the stadium on the other side of the island, Jasper drove in his big land rover, he said my walking was just the first challenge. The island it's self was actually quite pretty, with little tropical flowers and humongous beautiful smelling ones too, towering palm trees full of coconuts, sandy beaches, sparkly blue water and bright yellow sun, even when the night fell from the sky and seemed to settle on the grass, the island maintained its mysterious beauty, stars twinkling, the#moonshinning silvery white high in the sky casting sleepy shadows, the island still as the sky gripped the ground, never letting go until the sun eases it grasp and then itself settles on the fresh, green grass, covered in delicate water droplets as a present from the night, to wake up to a shimmering green joy around you filled my heart with hope, it felt like a shrivelled black crisp inside me had suddenly blown up into a big red balloon of happiness which you can't find in anything else. One thing the island taught me was that you can find beauty in everyone and everything, wether in personality, appearance, #life style or background, everyone is beautiful, god made us to love eachother, so that's what I did, I learned to, in time, love Jasper, and if I can do that, everyone can love whom they thought they could not find beauty in.
It took me 2 days to get to the stadium. When my first race, came I was so exited, stepping out on the track once more and hearing the roar from the crowd, hearing the anticipation in every viewer, the faith in each runner, the love.
When the gun shot I ran, I realised it didn't matter what position I came in, because seeing how happy the winner was, doesn't that make you happy, if I see someone smiles, it makes ME smile.
Nonetheless I ran, my feet slamming the track and bouncing away into another step, my clothes pushed by the wind, flat on my chest, the wind flowing into my mouth, the steady breathing, the pounding heart, it sent me into a trance, suddenly my head was spinning and I veered off to the left and collapsed into the crowd. The worse thing is when I looked up, seeing all the people looking worried and frightened as the observe me, Jasper shouting, other children screaming
"Blood, blood!"
I raised my hand to my head to feel warm, thick blood oozing from my head, I closed my eyes, perfect........first I'm kidnapped, and then I'm knocked out.
When I awoke I was in a little tent, a stern looking ladie with high cheek bones and large facial features was peering at me.
"Pulse? Are you there? Pulse?"
I sat up. The lady lowered me back down.
"you've got a fractured leg, broken arm, and you've cracked your head open.... Your not going to run again for some time young lady!"
My mouth dropped in dismay, how would I live without running, but for now I had bigger problems, facing Jasper......
