You Lose Her emaciated face loomed into view and he drew in a deep breath. She was as pale as a magnolia petal, dark shadows beneath her eyes. Her skeletal fingers reached out towards him, and he grasped them firmly. He pulled her into his firm embrace and smoothed down her hair, comforting her. Blood stains adorned her clothes and the dagger still held in her bloodied hands. She shivered slightly and he pulled her closer. This is what the Games did to you. They brought you close, and then they eventually forced you apart. He cursed quietly, then drew the knife from her hand. He had to make an impossible decision, between suicide or murder. If he chose the latter, would he be able to live with the guilt? But if he chose the former, would she survive without him ? He pulled up the knife slowly and he heard her whisper 'quickly, please', a small sob racking her body. And so he did. She gurgled, and her body dropped limply to the floor. And then an incredible thought occurred to him. Why should they have a victor? He raised up the knife slowly again, looked straight into the camera and mouthed 'you lose'.
