The Archer She let loose the arrow. It was true and found it's mark in the flank of the beast, which responded with a deafening roar. Trinity quickly placed the bow on her back and drew her blade with her right had knowing there wasn't enough time or space for another arrow. As the beast lumbered forward toward her, Trinity waited to the last moment and then side-steeped left while simultaneously cutting upward with her blade. The steel found its mark in the chest of the beast. The beast faulted as it concluded its a few meters away and then turned slowly to face its opponent. The beast locked eyes with Trinity from across the clearing. For a moment, Trinity could swear the beast had the eyes of a man. When the would finally caught up with it, the beast crashed to the ground. The slight rise and fall of the beasts chest were the only indication that Trinity's foe still lived. Trinity stood in silence for a moment; still frozen by the familiarity of the eyes of the beast. The approach of her friend and comrade in arms, Micheal, brought her back to the forest. "Incredible!" raved Michael "I suppose all that training is paying off." Trinity could only bring herself to nod. "Wait until master gets a look at the beauty!" Micheal cooed as he neared the beast. "Keep your distance." Trinity directed Micheal, "I can still see the creature breathing". Micheal slowed to a halt. Now that he had been told what to look for, he could clearly see the beast chest rising a falling. "Let us finish of the creature and be done with this." He said as he drew his own blade. "No!" yelled Trinity, "by the kings decree: every hunter, warrior, and wizard is allowed one beast to tame as a companion." "But you must first kill to qualify as a hunter, kill two men for warrior, and you are not a mage's apprentice," Micheal reminded her as he re-sheathed his blade. Trinity nodded in both acknowledgement and gratitude to Micheal. Then in a blink, she had set two arrows upon her bow and loosed them into the forest to her right. Micheal was shocked as two men bearing the seals of the enemy kingdom fell to the forest floor, dead. Trinity quickly turned toward where the men had been, set another arrow, took a deep breath and waited. Shortly after, a lone bird took flight to the sky. Trinity let the arrow end it's journey. "Micheal you are witness that on this day I have met both needs and am now a warrior and hunter." Micheal could only nod in amazement. Not only had he not even noticed the two me, but they had been nested right above him as he had been observing Trinity's fight with the beast. "Things are definitely going to be interesting now that Trinity has qualified," he thought to himself as he summon his pet falcon to him so he might relay the days events to the kingdom. "Interesting indeed..."
