When will it end? When will it end? When will it end The killing of another For their religion, beliefs, who they love and their colour For the fact that they’re different to you I’ve asked once before, do you think they bleed black and you bleed blue How is it that it's hate not love that we seem to defend Every day is more violence, more blood and more death With the people in charge screaming for war Homes and lives are destroyed but still, they want more They say teach love but war is what’s taught With those who stand for peace often left distraught Wondering if tomorrow they’ll take their last breath We kill the earth with our violence and greed The ground poisoned with the blood of the fallen The air polluted with the freedom we’ve stolen The world is crying from our hate of each other Instead of listening we continue to smother The earth, those in need, our sisters and brothers as we sit back and watch as they all slowly bleed A protester stands up and is shot is to the ground Whereas a rapist is welcomed with arms opened wide ‘Cause the colour of his skin means he’s on the right side But a refugee child is left alone to die with pictures showing only skin and bone But it’s only when they’re one of our own that we pick up the phone and donate to the cause then show the world that we care by becoming a clone By sharing on social media that we donated a pound We’re right we’re right is screamed from all sides But no one will listen to what the others have to say Instead they keep shouting bringing closer doomsday When what we need to do is to sit and to listen and to open our mind To the fact that mankind was not designed to be confined or defined That instead of throwing bombs and building walls, we should be tearing down the divides How is it that kids are learning to throw acid on another That the answer to something you don’t like is the shot from a gun That instead of trying we drop a bomb and think that we’re done That religion is dictating what’s right and what’s wrong That just because someone’s in power they think it’s where they belong How is it ok that we just kill each other We need to work together and start to mend What we’ve done to the world before it’s too late To teach love and acceptance, not distrust and more hate Because the way that we’re going there’ll be nothing left Except for hate blood and violence and more death and more death I don’t know if you can tell me, but when will it end?
