Value Of A #life Ok so I've just been reading in the paper about the girl who died yesterday while running the London marathon. Now her sponsor money she had raised for the event as rose from £500 to £281,000 which is great! There's also loads of people wrote in saying what a tragedy it was (which I'm sure it is she seemed a lovely girl doing something for a great cause!) However the week before was also a big marathon of a different kind 'the grand national' as we all remember this was also struck by tragedy yet the papers for over a week later were just filled with how cruel a sport this is and it should just be banned! So all I'm asking is why is the death of a horse seen as worse than the death of a human? Before you all start saying the horse was made to run may a reminded you that at the the time of the accident it was rider less and had already continued to run for a further 5 five fences of its own accord!
