Bacon Hotpot Put alternate layers of thinly sliced potatoes, onions and bacon into a steep sided dish. Cover with cheese sauce and bake on a low heat in the oven for 2 to 3 hours. Serve with plenty of vegetables. Lovely on a cold day!

We rescued a lamb We stopped by a field in the Cheviots to look at the sheep and lambs. One curious lamb stopped by the gate to look at the people. Curiosity got the better of judgement and the lamb sneaked under the gate. We told the lamb it wasn't a good idea, but he wouldn't go back under the gate. Luckily the farmer was passing and opened the gate so they the lamb could get back into the field. A happy ending for the lamb? Or would he have been happier coming with us to see more of the world?
