Today I Feel Betrayed I have a friend. A good friend. A known-her-all-my-#life friend. Last year, she went off with all the popular girls. Some of my other friends got annoyed, but I was cool with it. She can be friends with who she likes, right? Now these popular girls are horrible. They always laugh at me and make sarcastic comments. But I've learned to ignore it - why do I care what they think? Today, at lunch time, I walked past their table. I was going to sit alone in the corner, wolf down my food, and spend the rest of the lunch break in the library as usual. The sarcastic comments start. "Hi Susie!" "Love your hair!" "I love your YouTube channel, Susie!" "Hey Susie, will you go out with me?" I feel a blush rising, but continue to walk steadily onwards, making a beeline for the emptiest spot in the hall. "Did you get that hair style from the magazine?" I hear a voice. I look up. And it's my best friend. They all laugh. "Nice one Beth!" They giggle and I dump my tray in the bin and rush out. Bullies aren't always who you think they will be. Because the harshest words come from those who you least expect.
