#life As We Know It? Poetry should be artistic Hidden meanings within its fair prose But when worlds turn as crazy as ours has Whats become of our minds do you suppose? People primping and preening their bodies Making sure they are keen to the eye Minds are focused instead on how not to eat bread Or enjoy it but not so it shows. With this 21st century pressure Do we care how the sonnet was formed? Till it gains a career earning thousands a year Not a twaddle, frankly we are bored. This is why, dearest reader, I warn you As a poet I'm no Ogden Nash This is poetry for modern people. (And I'd LOVE if it made me some cash!)

What If........? What if we were a bacteria? Growing over a piece of bread Breeding Feeding Multiplying Not much else in our heads Look at the size of the universe Then compare it back to within We are not much more Than the tiniest spore And then we get thrown in the bin.
