Painting A simple stroke A bright red smear Brilliant against the background I'm glad to be here Another simple stroke Now the color of gold Shining in the sunlight Ready to tell stories untold Now a bit of brown There's a bench There's a tree I can see a little rabbit looking at me. There's a bit of peach And a nose And a face I see a little boy,with companions to chase. The freedom of the paintbrush. Such a wonderful galore. With the ability to paint anything,and let your mind run freely forevermore.

Nell Somewhere in the land of dreams Where the creatures of light dwell there lived a little fairy by the name of Nell. She sang songs spun of gold and her movement was more graceful than a bird. She could mend a broken soul with no more then a single word. However she was lonely,no one there to hold her hand. As she slept quietly in the moonlight two tear drops fell like diamonds and shattered on the sand. She'd never felt more hopeless,in the dark and in the cold feeling she was lonely,forever on her own. The next day as the sun rose,dear Nell felt happy again. Her voice took up a lively tune and she began to sway. It was time to fill the world with joy for yet another day. For years and years this cycle did not end. No one knew of the grief this small fairy felt over and over again. Then one night as she stared at the stars,the fairy of night swooped down and held the crying fairy in its arms. The fairy rocked Nell,telling her to hush. She said that everything would be okay,and that Nell shouldn't cry. For if she made through one more day there would be a great surprise. The next morning as she rose to fill the world with joy,the most beautiful sound was heard one of happiness and love. For who stood upon the hill,was none other than a pure white dove. Nell smiled,her heart filled with joy. Finally she had found someone who might join her in her song. The dove flew down to her and the two sang together all day long. That night as Nell fell asleep,a voice cooed in her ear. I love you my dear Nell and I will always be here. And in the darkness there was a glow of light. Nell began to transform,her wings turned to feathers of white. She woke the next day and reached out to yawn. Only to find that her arms were gone. In place of them there were two beautiful wings. Her body was covered with feathers that glowed a pure white. That morning,dear Nell flew off into the light. Her heart bursting with love and joy. She had found a companion,with who she would spread joy with for the rest of her #life.

The Missing Piece Has anyone found a piece of red glass? It's missing from my heart,and has for a while. There's been a hole there that makes it hard to smile. I promise You will get a grand reward, if you find the piece thats missing to my heart. Or at least make it smaller,because the pain is the hardest part.

How? How do you go from being content and secure to uprooted and exposed in a minute? How do you go from believing you had a chance at love, to crying about how it didn't work out a day later? How do you be okay one day and lost and alone another? How do you do all these things without committing suicide? Or cutting? You can survive it all because deep down, you know that someone loves you. Someone wants to be there for you and your shattered heart clings to that little thread, as if it is a #life line. You can make it because of love.

Shut Out Shut out the voices The screams of the dead The pictures the memories Fill you with dread. Shut out the fear The hunger The pain So maybe someday you may be happy again. Shut out the confusion The loss The hurt Shut out the memories The touch of red dirt Shut out the faces Cruel and sad Forget the fences The shaved scratchy heads Shut out the stripes White and blue To a young child they look like pajamas,they do. Shut out the smells The smell of the smoke The ash in your hair and the feces on your clothes. And the piles of bodies in un ending rows. Shut out the memories Crisp and vivid The pictures that hurt. The faces you once held dear. Shut it all out So that maybe someday Yes, maybe someday you can be happy again. (Inspired by the Holocaust, we're learning about it in school)
