Keep the Faith (Sample part of full story) “Don’t worry.” Cole said handing her a cup of tea, “I’m sure Millie will understand. Cordelia, on the other hand...” he grinned at her. “I’ll fix this.” She vowed, “I promise.” Cole laughed and took a sip of his coffee, “Like I said, don’t worry. Come on, I’ll run you a bath and then we can talk okay?” “Okay.” Piper agreed, although she didn’t really want to talk about it, she just wanted it to all go away. She wanted it all to be a bad dream. She didn’t argue, but instead just followed him to the bathroom. He rolled up his sleeves, the eyed the shoulder that was covered in mascara and decided to just take the shirt off. He tossed it into the laundry basket in the corner of the sleek black and chrome suite. Piper felt her cheeks redden; it had been a long time since she had seen Cole topless and she didn’t remember him being so well toned. “What?” He questioned. “Nothing.” Piper looked away. “Don’t tell me you’re embarrassed Piper!” He laughed, “You’ve seen me with my top off before” “Yeah well...” “Ah, you like what you see?” He joked as he playfully strutted towards her. She couldn’t help but laugh, it felt so good, just letting her inhibitions go like that. “Admit it, you want me.” He said getting closer. “Stop it!” She laughed playfully hitting him. He grabbed her arm and pulled her swiftly into an embrace. Their lips locked, the intenseness surged through their bodies. Her hands moved across his toned muscles as she kissed him harder, before pulling away. “No Cole, we...I...we can’t do this.” She gasped for breath. She stared at him, her heart racing. She could see the hurt in his eyes. “Sorry.” He eventually said, “I didn’t mean it. It was just meant to be funny.” He took her hand in his, “I’ll leave you to your bath and go and make the spare bed ready for you.” “Okay.” She watched him leave the bathroom and closed the door behind him. As she stared at the place where he had been stood she questioned her own mentality. Cole was the nicest man she had ever known: kind; caring and considerate. She pushed the plug down and turned on the hot tap. As she sat on the rim, watching it fill she thought about her husband and where things had gone wrong, but she really didn’t remember anymore. She began undressing, avoiding looking at her bruised body when she slipped into the hot, bubbly water. She leant back and closed her eyes, letting herself relax for the first time in a long time.
