Proverbial Grace
Peddling peddlers grace
Obliged as never before with my simple fortune.
Condemned are the insatiable characters
Covetous and blind, but make them see
Wealthy is a humble #life,
Rich with the things I have and not with those things I want.
Tie happiness with #life simply and not simply want
Do not crave to acquire possessions, attempt to acquire grace.
Yield at discontent and try to fulfill dire needs in #life,
For poor is a man whose pleasure depends on the presence of fortune.
Fulfilled are those who see
Woe are these discontented characters.
For it is these characters,
Unable to subside want
Forced to see
Vicarious grace
Through others’ simple fortune.
Never having truly lived #life.
Remember always to give thanks in #life
To the characters,
And for your family’s fortune
Unvaried by want.
Spreading grace
Not for others to see,
Flaunt not, others will still see
Impunity is not granted to the ostentatious #life.
Learn not to show off grace but share grace
Arousing worthy and curious characters
That will differentiate from want,
To find their fortune.
Wish to others, as often as is possible, good fortune.
Then, as in radiant sunlight through a window, you will clearly see
You must give to get what you want.
Having learned the secrets to a long happy #life,
Find agreeable characters
Able to nurture and blossom the good seed of grace.
To sustain good fortune thrive in #life.
See, for what it’s worth, the potential in all characters,
Being innately wary of want, living harmoniously in tune with grace.
