Why? The skies were so blue and bright, The grass so green, so sharp, so right. Nightmares would be if grey, stormy skies, Dead things and bare trees flashed through my eyes. Now the opposite has come upon me. The grey, dead #life is all that I can see. The dreams are now filled with bright skies and #life, Which are why I'm determined for an earlier night. Maybe an eternal sleep is all I really need, Then I would always be there, staring happily. The smiles, the laughter, the bright eyes all around, The birds chirping and the breeze blowing, such a lovely sound. It never really seems fair anymore. The pains and the aches don't mean anything, when your existence is sore. The thoughts all wild and jumbled in your head, No better way than to hope for your death. I've run away from so much in the past, The present, the future, but there's never a last. Continuing to run away from the shadows, Come to find out the darkness is what I followed. How to turn around and get out of this place, The hell to which I've been bound, lost in this flaming place. Deeper and deeper I fall into the dark abyss, Hoping to be granted of my very last wish. Make me believe, Help me feel free, Help me be me And not always hate what I see. It hurts, There's pains, There's tears, It stains. I just want to rip the fake away, Why do you hide? Why do you shy? You were made like this for a reason. To see myself the same, you would think it was time.

Dark Corners Sitting in the dark corners of the past, Every time I thought it would be my last, But again, the thoughts come back, Replaying, as if on a repeating track. A broken record because of the cracks, Those ideas that I wish I lacked. Why can't I forget, Why can't it go away ? Even when I'm at my best, Resurfacing, no matter the day. Screaming to have it escape my mind, But the darkness is stuck there, making me blind, From the future, I long to find, No matter how hard it try. If I put music to my words, Would this be a happy or sad song ? Crazy, angry, furious towards The music that actually describes the wrongs, And rights that have been there all along. Try harder to make your mind busy, Thoughts rushing back, brain dizzy, This type of change proved tricky And a situation that is sticky.

Eternal Universe An eternal universe, Never ending blackness. Look one way, dark; and vice versa, Seems as if nothing's happening. This word is timeless, Endlessly holding it's breath. The pain never ends and you're still a mess, But there are infinite things to hope for, if not less. But when there really is less, And you feel alone. Wouldn't even care if someone trespassed, Because you live in a broken home. Your hands and mind are scarred, From the fragments of fights and glass. No longer can you pick up the shards, Or fight the rest of your past. You try to think of happy thing, But no matter what, the bad things surface. Run So Cold The world runs so cold. History stories told. America the brave ? More like stuck in a security hold. Supposed to be stability, But the government has no ability, Crimes still committed, What's up with the hostility ? Run by some monsters, Just like in my mind. Massive chompers, Taking away your time. Run for your #life, And never look back, Or get stabbed with the knife, By the government, so whack. Why turn back around, If you make it to your own secure ground. Meant to stay in the happy place, Or stay in the bad place and be drowned. So why is this world so cold ? So mean, so cruel, so alone, Run by no one, the truth unfolds, So let it be known, Get ready to go, And run off to the happy place, to grow. JayAllen December 25th, 2013

To Be : To be strong: A mind so bold, A heart so brave. A thought of pure gold, Never willing to change. To be weak: An evil task, To not be yourself, Looking always, for the drink in the flask, Breaking down and getting no help. To be right: To live to the fullest, Never be greedy, Abide by the rule list, Don't be too needy. To be wrong: To think yourself unimportant, Hurting more people, Than yourself and, Calling yourself "cheapo" To be smart: Thinking before your actions, Changing from bad to good, Making a good transaction, Realizing you're not actually "hood" To be stupid: To create a bad rep, Just to be cool and a bad ass, To not take the test, Of #life, that you now fail at. To be YOU: Never accept criticism, From anyone other than yourself, Take I to consideration, realism, Then evaluate ones self. To NOT be you: Sinking down to another level, Becoming who you need not be, Don't think it's any trouble, To ask yourself "who's me" To succeed: To be who you wanna be, Live and be you, For all eternity, To yourself, Become true.
