The sky was a clear blue with little cirrus clouds speckled all around. I could smell the sweet scent of the roses and lilacs that I loved so very much. As I walked around, the grass was soft against my bare feet. Suddenly, I realized that all of these wonderful features of a lovely day were just what I needed to relax. Softly, I could hear the breeze whisper in my ear. It seemed to be the voice of a friend trying to tell me to relax. As I leaned in to listen, the message changed, telling me to now go to the shade of the tree line to my right. Overwhelmed with happiness, I approached the trees, hoping that I would find something even more inviting as I went on. In an instant, I was pushed forward into the trees by a noise so deafening that all I could no longer hear the whispering wind. As I turned to see what had knocked me over, flames started to engulf the paradise around me. As I woke up from my dream, I wondered if all good dreams really do have to come to an end. When my dog came to my room to give me a burnt rose, my question was answered.
