Silence Soft whispers of the waterfall, Flowers singing in the wind, Birds saluting the sunrise, Spring rain tapping softly. Oh, how sweet is the sound of silence

She Came She came to the young lonely soldier, Freezing in the trench It was the morning of his nineteenth year, His hands numb, his teeth clenched. She came to him with a bullet kiss His eyes glazed, he went back home. His heart was warm remembering her face, Her sky blue eyes, black hair with a bow. She came to a blossoming girl, With a shovel in her hand. The Germans dressed her in stripes, seized her curls, With a gun at her head, made her dig sand. She came to her with hunger's embrace, Her ears muted the enemy's words. All she heard was theatre music, Romeo's face, The ringing of bells, the clench of swords. She came to those men and boys, She came to girls and women, Who under their breath, sang their nation's songs, Took the guns when the day blackened. She came to them in uniforms, Their pride was stolen, their flag was torn. They fought to get back the days of freedom, But she was evil, she is war.

#colour Challenge Results This was probably the hardest thing I had to do on Opuss. The response I got was absolutely fantastic. It was so hard to pick the winner and I rearranged the top 3 many times.
