Band Challenge Because I like lots of music I don't have a favourite band I listen to quite a lot of them But on the other hand... The Suffragettes Were Released From Prison Suffragettes were a group is women Who stood up for women's rights They tried to make a peaceful protest But they often got in fights Most of them were soon sent to prison So they went on hunger strike The government did not want martyrs they had to do what they would like They let the suffragettes go back home (You will be shocked by this fact) They arrested them once they were strong This was the cat and mouse act The Tenth of August nineteen fourteen At last government gave in They gave the vote to every women So the suffragettes did win They released all of them from prison Suffragettes stopped their protest Because women could now be part of The democratic process ------------------------------------------------ The suffragettes were released from prison on the 10th of August 1914 after the government gave women the right to vote.

Happy South African Woman's Day! At one time the South African government Made an alarming suggestion That would mean unfair treatment For their entire black population They wanted the black people to carry A black pass that designated Where they work and live because Black people were unfairly hated But all day on the ninth of August Some women began to protest That black people are not worse And the white people are not the best The women marched and made long petitions And protested in every way So now today's remembered As Africa's national woman's day ------------------------------------------------ All facts from Wikipedia Today in South Africa it is national woman's day, to remember the women who successfully protested against the unfair law changes in 1956.
