Halo: Reach Campaign Review I have been playing this game quite a lot lately after ages of, well, not playing it. To be honest, I find that this is an incredibly under-rated game by the public. Sure, thousands and thousands of people play it everyday, but it has been forgotten amongst the sea of xbox games such as 'Call of Duty' and 'Gears of War'. To start with, the campaign contains an amazing and immersive storyline that is very rarely seen in many games over the recent years. Although it is a standalone story compared to the original Halo trilogy which all interlink with each other, the missions and cutscenes that you play through mixed together with the brand new characters and environments really create a whole new experience which cause you to develop a personal link with each character throughout the campaign. By the end of the playthrough, you find yourself befriending the courageous personality of Jorge, liking the tough and aggressive front of Emile, even beginning to get to know the mysterious character of Jun. Every member of the Noble team has their own story which makes the ending of each individual one all the more special to you as a player. The plot line is one that completely renews the Halo series to a brand new level of depth, one that really shows just how hard Bungie worked to bring together a game that would change the sci-fi genre of gaming for the better. A brand new planet, Reach, is being attacked by an unknown force. The UNSC Army moves to action, sending in platoons and squadrons to battle the troubles. Amongst it all, one firing squad stands amongst them. A team of SPARTANs, one of which is set as the protagonist of this story, the 'new guy'. You battle through missions and objectives, faced with the fearsome Covenant army in your way. Throughout the game you battle through hordes of these monsters, skies of bullets and explosions, with the one aim to save Reach. The fight ends there, on the frontier of the battle. The Fall of Reach. It truly is an amazing game which has redefined the science fiction genre of gaming forever, ushering in a new age of Halo. I would rate this a definite 10 out of 10, an absolute must buy.
