Blood Prologue The world around me turned darker and darker as i tried to fight the sleep that would eventually carry me off into a slumber that I could never return from. No I couldn't think of sleep, i had to stay awake, I had to keep running, i had to get away from them. The people who i had once trusted and loved now hunted me like dogs following the scent of my blood. I could feel the darkness closing in on me taking all the pain away from my gaping wounds that streamed crimson all over my body. Finally i let myself fall into a deep sleep. Siering pain shot through my body as a cackling laugh pierced the air around her. "You didn't think you could get away that easily now do you Nessa," a cool voice stated as he gently stroked my chin. "Get off me," i yelled forcing him back with all my strength, even when I was half dead I was still the strongest vampire here. "Oh look boys the little rat was right! She has blood!" The air filled with laughter as the group of men looked down on my broken form. "If you ask me I think Sebastian should of killed you the moment you came to the dracarni." "Then why don't you get it over and done with?" I snap back angrily through gritted teeth. "No,I don't want to get your filthy blood on my new cloak. I think it's only fitting that the man who condemned you to death should kill you." He said pulling out a hooded man who I hadn't seen standing in the background, although I had really noticed that much considering the pain. "I expect you will make a clean job I don't like mess Cato." My mind couldn't take any more at that point. Cato, the only person who I had ever trusted has betrayed me. The pain cracked my heart and pulled me deep down into a sleep I never wanted to wake from.
