Outlaw Ace: Bar Wars Outlaw Ace in Bar Wars Shots rang out; quickly I dove behind the bar for cover. Glass and alcohol flew all over the saloon floor. The Bartender was hit leaking on the floor next to me, coating the wood red. Shame too, he seemed like a good man, gave me a free shot in between each two I paid for. Lately, I cant find me a decent drink, no way, no how. “I know that’s you behind the bar Ace.” The voice was gruff yet familiar I heard it before but, I couldn’t quite put a name to it just yet. “10,000 gold pieces cowboy, You don’t turn yourself over now there’s going to be plenty more right behind us.” Finally it hit me, the voice was that of Nathaniel Barnes, Bounty Hunter. He was local, caught a couple low profile fugitives, no one special. Just a man trying to earn a living, like everyone else currently after me. I could hear some of the saloon tables shifting in the background, must be getting into defensive positions I thought to myself. Blam! Blam!...Blam!Blam! They unloaded into the bar. Shattered glass shards fell all over me. I was more concerned with being shot, then being cut by glass though. They were reloading, now was my chance, rapidly unsheathing my revolvers, I leapt over the bar while firing my pistols. One of my shots ripped right through Nathaniels’ throat, passing straight through his Adams apple and out the back of his neck. Instantly dropping him to the saloon floor, choking on his own blood while trying to breath. Another of my shots hit one of his henchmen directly between the forehead, thick-headed that one, don’t think the bullet went all the way through. I hit the saloon floor harder than expected, grimacing in pain my barrels still smoking in my hands. From the floor I had spotted the last of them, he was crouched behind a table attempting to reload his pistol. Click, Click... I squeezed my triggers to no avail, I was out of ammo. The last of the men left stood up from behind the table and began laughing. “10,000 gold pieces sure is a whole lot better split one way than three.” He chuckled to himself, his pistol aimed squarely at my face. “How you wanna go in alive or dead Ace?” Before he could react, while still lying on my stomach, I rolled over on my shoulder, while reaching for my knife tucked slightly in my boot, tossing it right between his eyes. “Dead, just like you.” I replied.
