Rust
I run and run. The yellow street lines zip by me. There are no cars on the desert roads. I am panting and my pelt is hot. The hot, black concrete is melting under my paws and my pads are burning. Nothing in sight. My claws click on the road. My names is Rust. People think I'm ugly. Because I'm different. I'm a hybrid, abandoned and alone. No one loves me. Why would they? Suddenly I feel breath on my heels. I start to look back but a horrible pain crashes into my body, slamming me to the ground and tumbling over and over only to be scooped up again and scraped against the hot ground, then hot air zooms over me and and I tumble to a stop. I'm crumpled and and.. Hot. Very hot. And wet. Not wet... Sticky. The car stopped abruptly, humans coming out and racing towards me. I don't want to be seen. I'm still awake tough. I feel... A little pain. I have a steel skeleton. And my blood is blue. My vision blurs and darkens, as the humans shove me up, a tiny one snuggling me. My body quakes in a growl and a large human snatches me up, carrying me until I'm shoved into a trunk of the car. "Bloody humans..." I growl angrily.
I squirm but I can't. Her hushing words curl around me... How I miss her. I sigh deeply as I feel air whip by in as I lay, bleeding my blue blood on the truck.
I don't know when i fell asleep but I awake abruptly, pain steering through me. Ill be fine, I'm kind of invincible with a steel skeleton, but I don't know how much I bled. A lot I'm guessing. I open my eyes to a white room. There's black and white tiles on the floor, and I smell something acholic, most likely a medicine of some sort. Suddenly my limbs burn and I lift up wearily. I'm covered in things that jolt me every few minutes. I'm in a glass I closed case, I realize this because I can't escape it. I see a human on a computer, recording my thoughts, feelings, movements, and behavior. I put a bloody paw on the glass and drag it down, claws ripping into the glass, but I only leave a little scratch. The tiny jolts from the electrodes turn into an enourmus burst of electricity and I screech in pain. I flop down immediately. Before my mind goes black I see a blurry figure, coming closer and putting her hand against the glass where my paw had been. I here talking but I can't keep my eyes open anymore.
"Don't worry sis, its just a little trip. Don't be worried. Don't be worried. Don't be worried..." I jolt up, startled by the repeated words. The last words. I put my paws over my head and let out a muffled, almost strangled whine. I look up and I can finally see the one that was the blurry figure. It's a little girl. She is hugging onto her mother I suppose, the one that was testing on me. I can't here what they're saying but something about the girl cares for me and asking why her mother is testing on me. I must get out of here, before my mind becomes corrupt. I must find her. I must find her.... I slip into unconsciousness.
"Eh, ain't ya hungry?" I awake, a grey wolf nudging me. I screech, shoving him away and bolting upright. I leap away, noticing my freedom confuses me so I sit, dizzy. I look around, in an odd environment, a forest. I'm in a zoo. With the grey wolves. Hopefully just one. I turn around, storming back over. My voice is rough and scratchy from not being used. "Listen, if you hurt me," I say no more as he pushes forth an elk shoulder and my stomach growls. "You was hurt bad, you was. We're you out into the glass? Not fun is it? Now listen." His accent and awful grammar vanished instantly with these words. "I'm the alpha male here, and your going to do what I say. You'll do what I want when I ask you. Because I'm a male, and your a dumb female. You'll just screw up our plan to get outta here. At nightfall, we are going to escape. You, me, and my mate." Suddenly a tired voice calls out "Need me, Sir?" A brown wolf pads forward, a bulging belly, probably of pups, a docked tail, shredded ears, and a scarred and mangy pelt. I laid down, already feeling strength deprived. "Okay... Sir." I closed my eyes and vanished into a seeping, black darkness.
"Don't worry sis. I'm just going to meet mum. It's just a little trip. Don't worry. Don't worry..." I snapped awake instantly, panting and covered in wetness. I looked up at the sky as rain beat down hard. I was weak and tired. I found the discarded shoulder, which I had never eaten, and ate it quickly, the meat tough, chewy, and soggy. I wasn't going to follow this "sir" guy any longer. I'm going out myself. I climbed a tree closeest to the fence around the zoo exhibit and leaped out. My claws ticked on the cobblestone floor. I ran quickly, round and round, not knowing where to go until I found an exit door. I pushed it open, an alarm triggering. I ran quick, hearing a wolf yowl and hearing guns going off and running and yelling and screams and one soft whine, and a yowl which became a screech. My mind turned blurry and I stumbled, falling away into nothingness immediately.
"I'm just going to Bleak Roads Crossing. It isn't far from here. Don't worry, sis. Dont worry. Don't worry. Don't worry..." I awoke, opening my eyes carefully. I was in the white room. The lights beat down on me and a hand reached down put an electrode in me.
