Cristal It was all I could hear. The sound of my heart beating so loud I thought it might pop from my chest. They were gaining. I could feel their breath on my heels. Their advantage? Having six legs. Mine? Wings. Wait I had wings, I could fly! Duh. I unraveled them and soared into the air, after almost getting the tip of my tail bitten off. Exhaling in relief I glanced down to see them roaring angrily at my escape. Relief turned to fury. How dare they exceed the borders?! As I descended into the thick forest, I began to feel dizzy. I landed and managed to shake it off, glancing in a puddle left in yesterdays downpour. My eyes had changed colour! They were no longer a deep green, but a burnt sienna! This happened before a few times, for no reason I know of. My ears perked at a loud rustling in the bushes and my claws slid out. Relief pulsed through me for the second time today as Kat-eyes popped out of the bushes. We just call her Kat, what with her strange name and all. "Are you okay?!" She asked breathless. "I heard screeching and-" Kat stopped dead, staring at me. "Ummm... Yeah, and what?" I asked wondering if I had a bug in my hair or something. "Y-your eyes..!" She stuttered. I realized she was one of the many in my colony who didn't know of my... eye... condition. I shook my head. "Come on spottedfoot warriors were chasing me through the gorge and may still roam nearby! If they find us I bet they'll want to celebrate with a stripewing BBQ!" I pushed through the undergrowth thankful to be able to distract Kat. I could scent prey nearby, but ignored it, thinking of the possibly threat of war. There was 6 colonies in total; tuftedtail, stripewing, spottedfoot, blackclaws, longpelts, and cloudears. "Cris? Cristal! Look out!" I zapped back to the present long enough to see the tree I collided with painfully. Before she could ask if I was okay once more, I said, "I'm fine" and started running again. "You're really scatterbrained today." Kat said "Are you okay?" she asked anyways. I sighed, "I'm fine, honestly." I could tell she didn't entirely believe me and gave me a comforting lick on the ear. Oh ya... One more thing... The stripewing colony is a colony of tigers. White winged tigers.
