Anything But School
I don't know why I have to go, but mom says I do.
Why do I have to learn so much about this world so blue?
The oceans and the mountains, big cities and small towns,
Does it really matter that I know if north is up or down?
Spelling all these silly words is such a bore to me,
Will ever really have to know that “climate” ends in “e”?
Math class makes my head spin 'round, just who invented this?
Why, I'd rather find a stinky skunk and give it a big kiss!
Science, I can sort of take, experiments and all,
But reading really has to go, I'd rather climb a wall.
I wish that I would never ever have to go to school,
And escape to some adventurous land free of teacher's rules.
If I could have one wish come true,
I know what I would be.
“All schools will close, kids go home!”
The president would decree.
