Hit By A Brick Wall A strange thing happened at the start of the year An epiphany happened-"live #life without fear" New years in alone asleep in the back After nursing a bottle of gentleman jack I had plans to be mobile and show more of my face Spending more time with friends and not wasting away And at the start it was good, got a party invite To a 30th bash, should be a good night, My housemate brought a mate over for the weekend, her name was Karen, and what a godsend! It was the first time I seen her I thought that I knew That god sent me an angel It had to be true. And that weekend the world fell away It was just me and Karen just talking all day And all night trading stories about cultural quirks I'm thinking "holy shit! This just might work!" The mind might be willing but the flesh was week, and In self defeat I went up to sleep, The last day was here and I missed the boat "I can't say how I feel, she has to go" I hugged her goodbye with a kiss on the cheek "was awesome to meet you,get home safe, you hear?" And as me and my housemate walked away from her,it was a slow motion moment,a videotape blur, My housemate enquired "you alright son?" And there's me in the middle of Liverpool one. Crying. Hit by a brick wall.
