Reading Response Dear: Mr. Knapp I have just finished reading the book " Smile" by Raina Telgemier. One day a sixth grader named Raina was at Girl Scouts. And they were racing down the street and Raina fell and lost her two front teeth. Next in the story Raina had to go to the dentist and get a seal cast to fill in the front gap. Raina went to the dentist the next week to get braces. After Raina got her braces she felt like a normal kid again. She also always wanted her ears pierced, so her mom let her get earrings just because Raina went through a lot with her two front teeth. I can relate to this story because when I was chewing gum I cracked open my tooth and it was bleeding just like Raina's I have a friend who got braces and she says that It really sucks when your wearing them because you can't eat candy but after there off you feel normal because you can eat anything. Before I have read blogs on YouTube about people getting braces. And they all say that it's not fun because you feel so different to everyone else with normal teeth.
