Kit (A Pretty Long Adventure Time Fanfiction) Here's the prologue. If I get positive feedback then I'll do the rest of the story. I hate making something so long if no one is going to read it. Enjoy ~Prologue~ My parents had died when I was just born. They were killed by a group of raiding trolls mere hours after the delivery. Nurse Poundcake was the one that saved me from the raid, hiding me under the bed while my parents were slaughtered just a few feet away. The nurse cried the whole time, knowing that we could be caught and killed had we been found. They took everything, and left us with nothing. When the trolls left, Nurse Poundcake took me to a family in the far mountains. She left me on the doorstep with a note. 'Kit Mertins', it read, for that is my name. The family that was burdened with me was only made up of a mother and father, Nari and Ron. The had no children, for their daughter had died in a horse riding accident, so they welcomed me with open arms. I spent three years there. While growing up in that household, they told me many stories. One of which, was the one about my parents death. Another, about my brother. I've been told that my brother disappeared into the woods when he was only one. Nobody knew what happened to him, but my parents were devastated. They spent months looking for their only child, but to no prevail. Nine years later, I was born. At that point, my brother would have been ten. We didn't think he was alive, until a dragon attacked our village. The dragon came down from the sky breathing fire on my neighbors house. It caught the flames, and was set alight. Mere seconds later, a radiant hero fell down upon its back, sliced that dragons head off, and then landed with a split on the ground. He was dressed in blue with a green backpack, white hat, and a golden sword with a red jewel at the hilt. I ran up to the boy to thank him, but no words came out as I stood at his feet, looking up. Nari picked me up in her arms and said "Thank you, young man. What is your name? We will put in a good word with Glob!" He sheathed the sword, and the spoke with an energetic voice. "No need for that, ma'am, but either way, my name is Finn! Finn the human!" Both of my foster parents looked confused at first, and then elated. They quickly ushered the boy inside, and then begged me to follow. They sat him down on the couch and proceeded to unleash a plethora of knowledge of who this boy was. Where he came from, who his parents were, his full name, and the fact that... he was my brother. His gaze moved to me as he words sliced through the room. A smile crept over his face. "We'll, I guess me and you are going to be spending a lot of time together!", he said to me. After that, Nari and Ron decided to leave me with my long lost brother. I packed up my things and I was gone the next day. I have never been outside of the Gumball Groves that surround our village, but at least it was a short ten minute walk to Finn's house. There, I met Jake, his magical dog friend. Finn let me sleep in his bed since then, while he slept on a couch downstairs. The whole house was made of a tree, and it was very interesting to climb through the branches to see what I could find. Within a month of living there, I have been introduced to most of the princesses, the queen of vampires, the king of the underworld, a talking gaming system, people made out of candy, and people that are actually houses. Even in my wildest dreams I could have never imagined that. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Finn and Jake were off running errands at the candy castle while I was left alone. That day, a bomb went off from an attack forms those in the grasslands. The castle gardens were in ruins. Finn barely escaped with his #life, and Jake died instantly. This was when the war started. Eventually the other two corners of Ooo got involved, and everyone had to pick sides, and ours was obviously for the Candy Kingdom. Since the day of his friend's death, Finn taught me the way of the sword, and spent all of his gold to have the best wizards teach me magic. I was only four when all of this happened. After five years, Finn was captured while on a scouting mission. He refused to tell his captures anything about our plans, and was killed without mercy. I was devastated. So I had a plan. I used all of my skills, magic, and energy to create a portal to the past where I could stop the war from ever starting in the first place. If I couldn't do that, I could at least save my brother. I gathered all of the scrolls I could find and set to work. It was very hard finding the correct spells and hexes to be able to do this. My energy was drained very quickly after just one incantation. Many of the spells took more than a full day to complete. It was much easier when Marceline, the vampire queen, brought me the legendary Enchiridion. Even with the powerful magic hidden in that book, the path took four years to complete. When it was finally finished, I grabbed my things, and stepped inside.
