The Home Route : Part 1 Allie dashed out of detention, sprinting down the road, looking, hoping that she hadn't missed the last bus. But she was too late. Allie saw the misty grey fumes swirling into the distance, the staring, vibrant red brake lights fading and the diesel smell that always tickled her nose, was overthrown by the sweet sunset air. She ran as fast as possible to the next stop, only a few blocks ahead but yet again, she wasn't fast enough. She sighed in desperation as she looked at the time. 5:15. Her mum would start to panic soon. Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at the local park as a newspaper floated down to her feet. The headline read, "MURDER IN MAYFIELD PARK CAUSES COMPLETE SHUT DOWN OF THE NEW PLAYGROUND PROJECT". Allie shivered as she stood by the padlocked gates of Mayfield Park. Her only way of getting home.
