A #life Thrust Upon Me [The article below is a part of my #life in words, please do not copy it] There are many roads we walk down as we grow into an adult, these roads often lead us ultimately to where we want to be in #life but at what point do we stop, exhausted and fatigued from the long road, only to be demoralised to find you have gone in a circle? Our lives come full circle and as we age, we begin to spot all the various facets of our personalities, formed from the experiences we venture through during childhood. So what happens when you look back at the experiences which shaped your very existence today? Does it scare you? Does it make you feel nostalgic of days past? Or does it shake your soul, distraught from the memories? When I look back, I remember all the things I saw.... all the people hurt and all the ones doing the hurting. Forgive me if this is cryptic, it is difficult to write about distress in clear words. I'll tell you about something which happened not so long ago... It was early Sunday morning, the nightclubs were shut and we were crawling the streets, dazed from the night before. The sun was ablaze and the air was close, thick with humidity and my friend couldn't hack it. We headed for the closest cab in the eerily deserted city centre of Manchester. As we paced towards a cab we had spotted, I noticed a bar was just opening, a sensation grew inside me, as though my stomach and heart were thinking independently, "Great!! Another opportunity to drown this endless pain" was the message which rang out from inside me Motivated by this possibility, I convinced my friend to head inside this bar, to treat our sodden bodies with some 'hair of the dog' and a plate of chips! My body felt like it couldn't handle much more, but my mind felt like it couldn't get it's fill. I continued drinking for a while, up until some more party goers entered the bar, also looking to nurse the wounds from the night before. It wasn't long until conversation started and a rapport built between our small group. A unanimous agreement was made, that we'd all continue drinking for another couple of hours. A few hours past and a particular man had taken an interest in me, he was handsome, considerably tall and it was difficult to discern his intentions, which ultimately led me down a road I hadn't wanted to venture down ever again.....
