Can't Sleep The bright sun shines onto my face and seeps past my eyelids. I see red and orange and yellow. I feel tiny beads of sweat beginning to form on the tip of my nose and under my lips. The light and heat are unbearable, yet I can't quite force myself to get out of bed yet. The rough wool blanket is annoying, yes, but my mattress is a soft, smushy haven after years of use. The effort needed to sit up is far too great. No, I think I'll lie down for a bit longer...
