Our Dependency On Cars You never really think about just how convenient vehicles and such are. But after spending two very rainy days outside in the muddy English countryside, with a drenched rucksack and soaked socks, and walking more or less non stop for five hours each day through fields and over steep hills, I'm appreciating motor transport. A lot. Especially since our torturous two day hike would have taken no more than an hour or so by car.
