The #life Changer Episode 5: Hospital nightmare (After Jamie telling Thomas’s dad about Thomas. Thomas’s dad contacts the police and they are told by police where Thomas is staying and they drive there) (They arrive at the hospital. Thomas's dad approaches the receptionist) Thomas's dad: Hello where is Thomas Crow staying? Receptionist: He is staying in the intensive care unit if you would like to wait for a second I will get someone to take you to where he is. Thomas's dad: Ok thank you. (Thomas's dad walks back over to Jamie and tell him what's going on) Jamie: Will it be ok if I come with you? Thomas's dad: Yeah sure. But don't burst into tear like you did when you heard the news. Jamie: I'll try my best. (A man walks towards Jamie and Thomas's dad and shows them the way to where Thomas is. Whilst walking down the corridor the Nurse gives them some advice to do when they see Thomas) (They get to Thomas's room and walk in. They see Thomas laying on the hospital bed #life less with cuts and bruises all over his face and a leg support on his right leg) Thomas's dad: Hello Tom. What have you been doing? (Thomas's dad walks to the chair next to Thomas's bed and sits down. So does Jamie but the chair on the opposite side of the bed) Thomas's dad: Jamie do you want to say something? Jamie: Hey Tom. I was the one that got the news of your accident a nice elderly lady called Rose picked up your phone and spoke to me. Thomas's dad: I think I'll have to go and open the restaurant but Jamie is going to stay here with you. I've given him the day off. (Thomas's dad walks out of the room with tears filling in his eyes) Jamie: Sorry if I caused you to have the crash by distracting you on the phone…. I know how you get distracted on the phone. (Jamie looks to the roof to keep the tears in his eyes and to think about something else to talk about) Jamie: The race was good last night I fell asleep before it ended so I don't know who won. (A nurse leaves and Jamie is in the room all by himself. So Jamie starts to hold Thomas's hand and he kisses it. Then he starts crying because Thomas doesn't hold his hand back and its just a cold floppy hand) Jamie: One thing that won't get old with you is your hair is always perfect. You've just been is a collision with a car and you have cuts a bruises all over you and your leg is broken but you still have your perfect hair. (For the next two weeks Jamie continuously visit Jamie and when ever he gets the chance Jamie would hold Thomas's hand or give him a quick peck on the cheek. He would never kiss on the lips because the left side of his lips were bruised and had a cut on the bottom lip and it seemed painful just by looking at it. But one day Thomas's dad has a little chat with Jamie) Thomas's dad: Jamie the Doctor and Nurses have been telling me that you have been visiting Thomas a lot and they are starting to think that you are in a relationship so can you slow the visits down because I don't want my son to be known as a faggot. Jamie: Ok sure if stuff like that is being said then I will slow it down. Thomas's dad: I knew you would understand. (Thomas's dad moves on and Jamie leaves at the end of the day. As normal Jamie goes to the hospital as he gets there he thinks about what Thomas's dad said but he forgets about it and walks in) Jamie: Hey Tom. Heard you are starting to get a normal heart beat so that's good. (A nurse leaves and Jamie looks at Thomas's lips they looked dreadful but Jamie had to get a kiss in now or he might never would) (Jamie leans over Thomas and goes for it as soon as he does this the heart rate monitor beeps and shows on the screen that Thomas's heart skipped a beat) Thomas: What was that for? Jamie: What? (Jamie looks at Thomas and sees that Thomas is opening his eyes) Jamie: Thomas. Thomas: What's going on? (Jamie sees a call button so he presses it. Shortly after doing this a doctor and nurse rush in and help Thomas and Jamie is told to leave) (After all of the tests and Doctors getting in the way the room is empty again. So Jamie sits back down in the chair) Jamie: Hey. They just let me back in how are you? Thomas: Confused after all of them doctors coming in they still didn't tell me the date. Jamie: You've just been in a coma for two weeks. Thomas: What? Thanks for telling me bro. (Jamie looks at Thomas weirdly) Jamie: Have you lost any memories? Thomas: No why would you say that? Jamie: I thought you called me little one now? Thomas: Oh I do but not in here someone might hear me. (Thomas's mum and dad rush through the doors and Thomas's mum hugs Thomas) Thomas's mum: I thought you was never going to wake up. Jamie: I'm going to go. Thomas: Why? Thomas's dad: It's ok Jamie you can stay. Thanks for being there when he woke up. (Jamie sits back down and continues talking to Thomas) (Three weeks go by and Thomas returns to school on crutches and is trying to attempt the stairs up to maths) Jamie: Your never going to make it. How many time have you tried now? Thomas: Twice. Third times the charm. (Thomas tries but he can barely make the first step so he hops back down, takes a breather and sits down) Jamie: Hold both of your crutches. Thomas: Why? (Jamie picks up Thomas and takes him up the stairs and places him on the table outside the classroom) Jamie: Jesus Christ that metal pole in your leg makes you ten times heavier. Thomas: Thanks for doing that for me. Hopefully next week I won't have these. (Thomas leans in for a kiss) ????: Ok stop there fags. (Billy the biggest bully in the school has been kicked out of his lesson and he is walking down from the third floor) Billy: Guess who’s going to get exposed. Jamie: No your not. Billy: Who's going to stop me. (Thomas places his crutches on the floor and starts to walk towards Billy) Thomas: Billy I don't care who you tell. Everyone knows about the rumour about us being together spread around by you two years ago. Billy: Get out of my way hop along. (Billy shoves past Thomas and Thomas falls to the ground) (Billy starts to laugh) Thomas: Dickhead. (Jamie helps Thomas up and they walk into maths) (Two weeks later and Thomas and Jamie are being harassed with homophobic comments and other bullying) (They are sitting at a lunch table alone and no one is sitting next to them) Thomas: I can't stand this anymore. Just because we're gay they treat us like we have a deadly disease. Jamie: I know right? (Thomas starts to stand up and he stands on the table) Jamie: Be careful you just got off your crouches. Thomas: What is your problem just because I'm gay! If it is your all sick to believe that people these days are still discussed about gay people! (Thomas gets down and walks out of the canteen followed by Jamie. After the school day Thomas and Jamie go there separate ways and start walking down opposite paths) (Two minutes later and Thomas gets beaten up and Thomas call Jamie) Thomas: Jamie hello? (Thomas starts to get up off the floor) Jamie: Thomas I'm here we just left each other what's wrong? (Jamie stops and turns around) Thomas: I've been jumped. Jamie: I'm on my way. (Jamie ends the call and he starts to run to where Thomas is) Jamie: Thomas what are you doing trying to get up? Thomas: I didn't want to be on the floor. (Jamie puts Thomas's arm over his shoulder and he supports him to the nearest bench) Jamie: Did you get a good look at them? Thomas: Why are you asking that there no point in getting revenge they will just do it again. Jamie: No I'm not going to get revenge but when we tell the police we need a good…..(Thomas interrupts) Thomas: We're not telling the police. If we do they will have to speak to my dad and I don't want my dad knowing otherwise I will be thrown out on the streets. Jamie: And the same will happen to me. Our best option is to run away. Thomas: That isn't a bad idea. We could become chef with the experience we have from my dad’s restaurant. Jamie: Are we really thinking about doing this. Thomas: There are lots of hostels that help teens like us who are in abusive relationship with parents or others. (Jamie gets out his phone and looks at all of the nearest hostels) Jamie: It says here that there's a man who lives on Park lane drive that helps people like us. He has lots of pictures on his Facebook page of the people that he has helped. Thomas: Ok well do it tonight meet me here at 100 and we will go to Park lane drive. Jamie: Seriously it's not the shock from the fight or anything. Thomas: No it's not I ready to go through #life with someone I love. (Jamie kisses Thomas and accidentally touches one of Thomas grazes) Thomas: Ow the stings. Jamie: Sorry. (Later that evening they meet up with packed bags and they head for Park lane drive. After a short bus journey they walk past the church and cross the road and head towards the house and they knock on the door) Tim Burns: Oh hello there. Jamie: Hi there are you Tim Burns? Tim Burns: Yes are you here for a specific reason? Thomas: We can't live where we currently live. Tim Burns: Come in. (Tim tells them everything about the company and he gets them to sign some condition forms) Tim Burns: I think it's a bit too late to be going anywhere now. I will make up the sofas so you can sleep on them. (Tim with the help of the two boys make up two sofa to sleep on. They get comfortable and Tim leaves and is just about to leave) Jamie: Tim. Tim Burns: Yes Jamie. Jamie: Thank you from the both of us. Tim Burns: It's ok. (Tim leaves and turns off the light behind him) Jamie: Good night Tom. (Thomas is already asleep and laying on Jamie’s chest) (The next day and Thomas and Jamie are just finishing eating breakfast at Tim’s house) Tim Burns: Are you two ready? Thomas: Yeah we're ready we've got our things. Tim Burns: Good put your stuff in the boot of my car then we can get to the house. (They do what Tim says and they start to drive to the house) Tim Burns: At the house you will be sharing with other people who have been through the same thing as you. Jamie: Are there already people in the house? Tim Burns: Yes there is they are called Aaron and Nicky they are a couple like yourself and they very nice. Thomas: That's good. (A little while down the road and they get to the house. The car stops) Thomas: Are we lost of something? Tim Burns: No this is the house. (They all get out of the car and Jamie and Thomas get there bags and carry them to the front door. Then Tim knocks on the door and Aaron answers) Aaron: Hey Tim. Tim Burns: Aaron I've got some new arrivals. Aaron: Hey I'm Aaron and my boyfriend is called Nicky. (They all walk in) Jamie: Where should we put our bags? Aaron: Pick a room there all free instead of the first one down the corridor. Tim Burns: I'm going to leave you to help them settle in ok. Aaron: Yeah sure. See ya later. (Nicky walks out of the bed room) Nicky: Have we got new comers? Aaron: Yeah there through there. (Nicky walks into there room and starts to talk to them and him and Aaron help them with there bed) Jamie: You don't have to do that. Aaron: Oh it's fine we have nothing else to do. (Later on in the day. Aaron is making lunch and Jamie and Thomas are snuggling on the sofa watching Tv) Aaron: What do you want in your sandwich? Thomas: Do you have chicken? Aaron: Yeah. What do you want Jamie? Jamie: I will have the same as Thomas. Aaron: Nicky what do you want? (Nicky is in the other room) Nicky: I will have cheese. Jamie: Cheese please. (In a weird accent) Thomas: Cheese please. (They both start laughing and Aaron brings over there lunch and Nicky walks into the room) Aaron: So where did that inside joke come from? Jamie: You probably think we're really stupid with this all this couple stuff. Aaron: Me and Nicky can't judge you should hear some of our inside jokes. Thomas: We will explain our inside joke and see if any of yours can keep up with ours. (They start to explain there joke and it makes Aaron and Nicky laugh) (End)
