Woman In Black. Comparison Welcome to a battle of woman in black story's. Who would win? Would it be the play or the movie or the story. Let's look at the story's. In the theatre show and Susan Hills novel, the idea is the same. It has a man, a lawyer, go to the house of a dead client (Alice Drablow) and be haunted by the ghost of the woman in black (Alice's sister Jennet Humphrey). He doesn't do anything to stop the woman in black and simply wants to discover the truth. You don't discover the dying children until the end. Also his Fiancé lives up till the end. His son and love crash in a wagon at a park. He lives to die of old age with his new wife. The film. The story is similar but the hauntings aren't as good. A hand coming out a bed or hearing a wagon crash. The movie chooses hand! The wife however dies at the beginning instead of the end. This and the ending is not the only part of my disappointment. If you're thinking what happened in the end? The son walks I front of a train and the man suicides to try and save him, then they meet the wife in heaven? This is added with children being killed through the film. Even on the first scene you've got children jumping out a window! However I understand this makes the movie more action packed. Since when was HEAVEN SCARY? I know it's gonna be scary in Doctor Who's "Death in heaven" but that's not going to be the real heaven. The other dissatisfied part of me comes from making our lawyer a grave digger. Remember when he is digging Jennet up! Not to mention the mad woman carving in the table! Who's idea was that? Anyway I believe that the order is; In third place with 7/10 points the film In second place with 9.99999999/10 points is The theatre ( I would give it ten but I don't want to have joint first) And first place is the book with 10/10 points. Next review is going to be woman in black 2...
