Trust Me Chapter 2 The next morning arrived quicker than expected. The fuzzy memories of the night unfolded. Pictures had been uploaded and tagged confirming that the night had actually taken place. She looked at his face on the screen, counted how many of the pictures were of him and her, where he had stood in them all and the look on his face on the later ones. It became clear, it had happened, she had kissed her best friend's boyfriend and cheated on her own. But it felt good. Finally the feeling of being wanted again. She had been going through a rough patch with her partner and almost felt like he didn't care for her anymore. Checking her phone all morning for any traces of contact, signs of regret or remorse on any of the social media sites. Nothing. On her way home she wrestled with the idea of texting him. She knew what they had done was wrong but she still couldn't stop smiling. Then doubt struck. What if he regretted it? What if he only fancied me because he was drunk? Or worse, what if he didn't remember it at all? Just as the fear and loathing began to seep in, her phone beeped. It was him. He asked her if she enjoyed herself last night and commented on how drunk they both were. She needed to answer this message carefully. How did she want it to go? She didn't want to put him off and she didn't want to be rejected. She replied in a lighthearted way expressing how much fun she'd had and reciprocated the question. They both skirted around the subject of the kiss until she thanked him for saving her from the stranger in the bar. It broke down the barrier they had both put up. He apologised for taking it too far, she told him it wasn't too far. The affair had begun.
