Chapter 2 I woke in a cell to a rustling noise. It was clanging on the bars. I wanted to sit up, but I was strapped to the table I was on. I tried to take in my surroundings, but everything was still hazy. The door of my cell creaked open and the same man who had the cloth was standing in front of me. He grinned an odd, ugly grin and muttered something to the guard of my cell. He took off immediately. That's when I heard the screams. Emily was brought in and strapped to the spare chair in the room. I saw her humongous hazel eyes and my eyes started to water. I didn't want to show fear to her, but I probably already did. She took shaky breaths and shook like she was frozen. My eyes cleared from the tears that I force down my cheeks. "They will kill you!" She hollered at me. I could not find my voice. My throat throbbed from the previous day. I swallowed hard. "I know," I croaked. She sobbed and she wouldn't stop. The man came closer to me and and shone a light in my eyes. "You are so useless, amoblia. I thought you were going to be trouble." He chuckled. His face was lop sided and he had a scar down one side of his face. I stared at it for a while. "You did this to me!" He yelled at me inching closer with every second. "When you were 10 I took you and your sister, Shayla," he said with a crooked grin. "Her blood is still on the wall, exactly where I killed her. You'll be beside her!" He exclaimed. "I won't die, it's your turn," I said with a malicious tone. Fire shot from my hands and burned his face. Fire burned the straps on my wrists. I sat up and ripped off the straps on my ankles. By that time other guards entered the cell and started to take Emily out of the room. I swept them both to the side with my wind. Emily tore herself out of the chair and we sprinted down the corridors until we found ourselves lost. There was a guard sleeping. I punch him in the side of the head and take his 2 guns. "Give me one," Emily said in a hushed voice. I handed her the lightest one and we left that spot. I couldn't leave her defenceless, what if she got shot? ** ** ** We wound our way from different hallways to the next. I felt something slimy on the back of my neck and then spin abruptly to find no one there. I was getting so paranoid. Emily shook the hem of my shirt. "Look," she said in a whisper. "There is people here." I looked up surprised to find people, probably amoblia, stacked on cells apon cells. My jaw dropped in awe. A man stood in his cell and wedged his arms through the bars. He beckoned us forward saying he won't hurt us. I had one of the guns levelled, just in case I had to shoot. "There is an exit on the east wing. The only exit, it will be heavily guarded, be careful." The man handed us a map of the jail, well at least I think it's a jail. I accepted the map and opened it. The exit was circled in red, I looked up at the man and he nodded. That was not pen, it was blood. The thought shifted to the back of my mind to be forgotten. "Thank you, sir" Emily said. "Milos," he said. "You better run, they are after you 2." I turned to notice that guards were bolting towards us. Instantly we spun about on our heels and left Milos on his own. The guards stopped in front of the cell and shot him to death. Emily wailed. She hoisted her gun and shot both people in the heads between the eyes. I looked down at her in awe. How did she know how to shoot a gun? I felt like asking, but replacements came. I tug her arm and we sprint to the east wing of the jail.
