World Poetry Day On a day like today, Where words run and play In the minds of people all over the world. I sit here and ponder, out of all of #life's wonders, Today's #poem goes out to a certain kind of girl. This is to you the not so pretty, The not so popular the not so cliquey. The girl who studies alone. The girl who wrote poetry, who found comfort in hanging at home you see, The girl not many of us had known. This goes out to the girls who never partied, The girls who found comfort in their hobbies, Not needing to hold a drink to be known. The girl who was told she wasn't all that pretty, Couldn't dress all that slutty, To attract a boy to bring home. To you this #poem is written, Those girls who hated on you are smitten, To the beautiful girl you've always been. Because now tables have turned, While they've partied you've learned, And your focus is still what it was then. You've got the brain and all the knowledge, You're not having trouble with college, And boys are barely a distraction. That is until they realize, The true beauty then lies, Deep within the heart complex contraption. These girls who party, Once so hot and so naughty, Drank their sexiness away. You who had focus, Worked on you and the boys know this, For now you steal the show everyday. Impressed by your mind, your culture and soul, These boys, wanting to be men with flock to your door, And you get to choose who to let in. So this is to you the focused and mature, The girl who has been herself since she entered that high school door, To know that true beauty is within. As a gentleman fed up with silly games, Pretty faces and fake names, I hope to once find one like you. To laugh and to share, And know you truly care, I would love that, I would love it wouldn't you? So know that you're lovely and perfectly you, There's millions of ways to express it it's true, Don't ever fret what others may think because any man would be lucky to wake up next to you.
