Senna As a pretty big fan of documentaries, especially done on a grand scale at the cinema I was drawn to Senna. Still it's content is formula one, something I used to dread every Saturday after live and kicking which to this day taints my view of 'the chain' by Fleetwood Mac. Nevertheless I decided to jump in at the deep end and give this movie a chance. I feel I have somewhat the privilege of not knowing who Ayrton Senna was because due to this I had no preconceived idea's of what made him so special. However I soon realised ten minutes into the film why he's reached such legendary status. The interesting thing with this sporting movie is that due to its theme (racing car driving) it can be enjoyed by all. Who doesn't enjoy watching a fast car or someone daring enough to be behind it? Plus it helps that Senna had a very interesting, likeable personality. There is obviously a great story of bitter rivalry, passion and determination that sadly would be Senna's downfall in due course. All set against a beautiful backdrop spanning across the globe. The footage is extraordinarily personal and beautiful to watch, the best I've probably ever seen. I would definitely recommend giving this a watch even if fast cars isn't your bag, it's about much more.
