LOST within REALITY LOST within REALITY by Nicholas c Caldwell "LOST within REALITY" is a story with a wide variety of metaphorical parallel universes of reality. Try not to be confused with which one is real. Attempt to discover the truth behind which one really is reality. Everything is linked and connected, the question is to what it is linked and connected to. That is the meaning of this story. Try not to overthink it. ************************************************************************* THE TELLING CHOICE I am a boy and I am lost. To understand with what is not reasonable. To comprehend the unknown, and to reason with the non-understanding ones. When they ask me, when I am lost. To tell them the lies, or to stray them into the frey. To decide with no question to decide upon. I am a boy, and I am lost. Iv'e been lost for awhile now. The other day I found myself lost within a forest. A Black Forest. Skies of raining ash shatter down into tears of diseased water. I listen, closing my eyes. I feel the world around me, and I understand. Questionless. Powerless. Fearless. Meaningless. But still I feel, and I know what it all means. So when they ask me, when I am lost. I will tell them truth. Tell them of the beautiful white covered trees. Tell them of the cold streams of pure water. They will feel. They will see. They will listen. They will understand. THE MACHINE I am a boy, a machine. I can feel the gears grinding, the shifts tightening. Broken metal drifting to the floor. I am a boy, a machine. I am trapped by barricaded doors. Shears of glass formed into an eye. Burning oil filling my veins. As I bow to the gods, screws and bolts escape my body. Knee caps implode gravitationalessly. I am scrap. I am broken. Disposed into the indispensable. Melting away into the frey. Burning into eternity. THE REACHING TRAIN I awake inside of misty grey clouds. Dew amongst my pail white skin. It boils up into to steam. I see the temp astute rise. The particles amongst me begin to hiss as they run. Run as fast as they can. Now i am trapped on the front of a train. The warmth of the head lights singeing the hairs on the back of my legs. Duck tape covered over me. The tracks rushing past my toes. Tunnel lights passing like a rushing street of a sextillion cars. Screaming into the soundless. Bugs imploding amongst my teeth. Suddenly, the tracks deteriorate into faint, monochromatic clouds. I am falling. Amongst me is metal and torn seats. Steel rails soaring around me. Millions of bits colliding together. We are falling. Feeling the thick, black smoke rise to the top of our hairs. Sinking to the Earth like a burning meteor. The fire crawls around our bodies. Our speed begins to calmly grow to a halt. Almost as if I am a feather swifting to the floor. Inches away from grass and soil. Slow motion swallowing the world. I see an ant slugging round on a leaf with a broken leg. Everything is right in front of me. I feel the loving homeliness of the Earth rising into my cold, dew, pale skin. Only if I could just reach out and touch the dirt with the skin of my finger, but I'm to busy fixed onto this familiar ant as he slowly dies. Then the wind picks up, almost as if it's a hissing train. I rise up, loosing hope. All of me has been lost. All that is left is an individual ash. Only if I could have just reached out. AWAKENING INSIDE DREAMS I am a boy. I have awoken. I rest upon a coal ground. My body is cloaked in silky blackness on a neighborhood street, looping inside an endless black whole. The stars around me. Floating amongst the darkness of space. A sort of pond of elephant tears. I am smiling amongst the careless. Dreaming amongst the sleepless. TELEKINESIS The blankets of grass and autumn leaves comfort my body, as all the stone pebbles around me float inches above the dirty soil. My hair intertwined with strands of grass. I lie, motionless. The stones begin to rumble, shivering ferociously. My eyes close tightly as I grit my teeth. Hundreds of rocks around me shatter equally into twelve pieces, hovering in perfect spheres above Earths crust. The wind begins to stir within the treetops. The branches begin dancing hectically. The bark sharply rips of the trees. Frozen in space, inches from the surface of their homes. Only leaving strands of dirt and dissected ants in between the air. Everything is calm, the wind dies down. The stones and bark give in to gravity. It is only me. I listen to the silent world. I feel nothing but the beat of my heart.but then I begin to think. Stop here and stand. Breathing. Forgetting all the world. Leaving the coldness. The moons before you, burning into white flames. The dark shivering ocean swelling whole the world you use to know. Everything deletes off into whiteness... BREAKING LOOPS TOGETHER & FOREVER My eyes calmly flicker open. I can feel the warmth of the sun rise upon the skin of my face. The white sheets rest around my body as I become weightless. Birds tweeting begin to sound rather faint as my mind droops off into a soothing thought. Within the emptiness of my mind, I find her. Her skin against mine. Her heart against mine. The warmth of the morning sun lays upon us, almost like a soft sheet straight from the dryer. My fingertips brush up against her skin, as do my lips. Everything in my mind fades away, and everything seems almost perfect. Her soft hair between my fingers, the smell of her around me, the warmth of her body. Everything seems almost perfect, but nothing is ever perfect. My eyes flicker open, as I once again feel the warmth of the sun rise upon the skin of my face. The white sheets rest around my body as I become weightless. Birds tweeting begin to sound rather faint as my mind droops off into a soothing thought.
