City Streets I walk this city in the rain, Wishing I was home again. Back to folk I know so well, There again I dream to dwell. Where once I watched the grazing sheep, In the valleys, sunlit deep, Saw the farmers making hay, Rubbing brows from heat of day. I think I smell the homemade bread, The taste of which I loved so well, The people poor but living rich, Mothers sewing love in every stitch. But here I walk these city streets, Not knowing one that I meet, Loneliness digs so deep, Memories now are all I keep. #fiction
