Mira Mankind believes that they struggled through the mud alone. That they have grown up from apes, and that they alone can can rectify the ills of our world. They are mistaken! When mankind turned his back upon his gods a balance was disturbed and a contract broken. The gods lived for mans love and his fear. In turn man prospered from the gods care and affection. Not only man but also the land which was restored by this good balance. Then, man suffocated under the weight of his own offspring and the earth strangled from the demands of caring for so many. Death the last deity left still in the mortal lands, vented his fury and frustration. Lost after so much hatred and so much disparity, he cut away the weak and the sick and the old. This did not satiate him and so he cut even more taking the vile and the cruel. The numbers if mankind cut so short that they could not survive with out aid. Death in the end looked upon the destruction he had wrought and in guilt took pity. He called a single mortal soul to mend the bond between their kind and the Mira. But this person could not do it in the tiny span of mortal youth. Death like Prometheus before him broke the law, to the mortal he granted immortality and sensing power in her granted her godly ability. She would become the protector of the balance and an ally to whoever she chose, for death had no wish to play nursemaid. As a last gift he gave her a title. He named this creature, the guardian.
