Don't Look In The Closet Lena couldn't sleep that night. Her brain had kept her up thinking about pointless things and things that maybe mattered too much. Who cares what might've been for dinner the next night and college was too stressful to always think about. Lena was a sophomore in high school and should be focused on her grades and who to hang out with, but it didn't stop her. Her mind was doing flips when suddenly... "CRASH!" Lena shot straight up in her bed, eyes wide trying to peel through the darkness. It sounded like the noise came from her closet which made her a little scared. She turned on her little stain glass lamp, only looking towards the closet. She took a step to the ground and faced the closet. She listened for any other sounds, hoping a box had just fallen over. Nothing. She started to take baby steps towards the closet feeling a little foolish for feeling so scared. But then she heard little scratchy rustles which sent chills down her spine. She froze, not making a sudden move just to be sure this was really happening and whatever it was didn't know she was awake. After about a time of two tense minutes, Lena slowly started closer towards the closet door, her heart pumping faster and faster. It felt as though the room was being stretched and the closet became farther and farther away which just increased the suspense in her mind. Then Lena just stopped. "What am I doing," she thought, "this is ridiculous." Lena then got a burst of courage and ran up to the door and opened it so quickly and turned on the switch so fast she hadn't even blinked yet. She gave out a quiet shriek when her cat, Milly, jumped out at her, running straight under the bed. Lena put her hand over her heart feeling it race until it became steady again. As Lena started to turn around, a hand in a black leather glove slapped across her face holding a handkerchief, forcing her to breath in the chemicals it had been absorbed with. Lena kicked and swung with her arms with all her might as she tried to do something to escape the firm grip of the intruder. "This is the end," Lena thought,"I'm going to die." She tried screaming and then her eyes started to blur, slowly fading into black. She let out a sigh as she finally gave in to the intruder, dangling in their arms like a rag doll.
