I watch the tide creeping up, the waves dragging shells and pushing them back. Then I wander about the silent beach, cartwheeling in the empty space. Then i lay on my towel and let the breeze put me to sleep… Something wakes me. I'm underwater, drifting towards the surface, the last breath of #life leaking from my mouth. As I struggle to breathe, water floods into my lungs. The sea water stings my eyes, I can't bear it. I shut my eyes, but I can still see my #life flash before me. Then the lights go off, everything blacked out, including me. I wake again, in a white room. People are rushing around, screaming and crying. A man is leaning over me, shining a bright light in my eyes. I can hear him mumbling something, I squint. I make a terrible croak and the man shakes his head disapprovingly. He writes down something, as if observing me. He spins on his heels, and walks on ahead, leaving me confused. I was drowning, about to die. But I am alive, here, breathing. How? A woman trotted towards me with a clipboard. She was testing me, blowing my eyes and whacking my knee to see my reflex. I tried to stop her, but my arms were strapped to the bed. She cackles with a strange grin… amused at my troubles. I crane my head to look down the room. She widens her eyes and pushes my head down sternly and straps it down. Chapter 2… coming soon.
