Django - Reviewed Briefly So, I tried watching Django the other day..and yes I have to say tried because I found it so darn awful that I could not keep watching through to the end! For those who don't know it is a film about a bounty hunter who is searching for two brothers and he enlists the help of a slave to find them. Oh, it's set in 1858 which is two years before the American civil war - slavery and killing were all the rage back then. There is a huge amount of blood, a tremendous amount of swearing, and I lost count of the number of times they used the word 'nigger' (derogatory word for Black people). However the acting was very good…though for me that was no surprise with such a stellar cast as Jamie Foxx, Samuel L Jackson and Leonardo Di Caprio, not to mention the delectable Kerry Washington. Should you see the film? I don't know - but I will say that the fuss it generated around the time of its release was definitely justified and I find it very worrying that more people were not up in arms about it.
