iRuby Chapter 7 I followed Cheryl, Louise and Sandra into the ward. I ducked behind a tall doctor to avoid Cheryl's view as she turned around. I walked after them and hid behind a wall to make sure that if they turned around I wouldn't be seen. A doctor turned to me and grinned. 'Get lost,' I frowned at the man. 'Feisty,' He winked at me. I kicked my leg up over his head and repeated, 'I said, Get lost,' I growled at him. He scrambled off and I smirked. I got back to what I was doing and I ran to the door of Cheryl's operation room. I lifted my head up so I could see through the glass window. They were getting Cheryl to lie on a bed and Louise and Sandra on the other. I had to walk in, to stop them from doing it. But I couldn't. I didn't know why I couldn't. But I froze.... I plucked up my courage and pushed the door open. 'What are you up to??' I yelled at Cheryl, who jumped off the bed. 'This isn't what it looks like,' Cheryl continued. I glared at her, unbelievably. 'You think I didn't find out, I know what your doing, and you didn't think I'd find out about it??' I asked her. 'It's not what you think' 'Isn't it?? I know what your doing, How could you be so selfish??' I ran out of the room and walked towards the door. 'RUBY!! Wait!!' Cheryl called after me. I ignored her. 'RUBY!!' A hand caught my shoulder, 'Wait..' 'Why what are you going to do?? Use your new mind powers??' I asked her. 'I - I - I...' She stammered at me. 'I need to fly like I need to breathe. It's in my genes. Not yours,' I ran out of the building without a backward glance... I flew to my favourite peaceful place, the river meadow. It's a quiet lonely meadow with a river running through it. The river has a stone bridge on it, where I was sitting at the moment, for a long while to be. I have no foster parent, no teachers I can rely on.....
