Guardian The sun shone down on me As I crossed the street And I saw a stranger wave to me And I smiled and carried on with my day. The clouds glowered down on me As I bought coffee And a stranger served me and grinned And I paid him and carried on with my day. The rain poured down on me As I stuck my head out the open window And a stranger said hello to me And I said hello and carried on with my day. Thunder shot down on me As I waited for my bus home And a stranger was sitting there And I sat by him and carried on with my day. Snow drifted down on me As I wandered across the road And the stranger saw me And pushed me to safety from the speeding car. Hail dropped down on me But I didn't much care Because the stranger was sitting here And he told me I was always safe with him.
