Grandpa's Lap When I started out small I knew nothing at all No words to speak Only eyes to seek Up on Grandpa's lap What seemed like a dream Made my face beam Where stories unfolded And characters moulded Up on Grandpa's lap Our world of wonder Free from thunder A shady spot That meant a lot Up on Grandpa's lap I could be a princess I would feel nothing less In my tower so tall I could be anything at all Up on Grandpa's lap He planted a seed On which my imagination could feed The tales could be told I was never to old Up on Grandpa's lap As I have grown more The stories which I adore Will travel with me One day Grandma will be me. Up on Grandma's lap.
