NINA- Chapter 1 It was dark. And the moment Nina had been waiting for. Her manicured hand reached from under her black insulated leather jacket; a locket to be revealed. Opening it carefully, she smiled. Fourteen minutes past midnight. Every grain of time was ever so precisely correct. And looking back for the last time, she propelled her body into the darkness, dropping down onto the concrete, her army heels clamping to the ground. Nina had always loved drops. But with no further hesitations, her long, well trained legs ran. Past the tall, glass buildings, down the bridge, up the staircase, and through the abandoned alley. Soon enough she spotted the dark figure, cutting the corner at the stream, just as she was informed. Still running, now only a few paces behind, Nina reached for her trustworthy steel gun, ready to strike with the bullet. She was always confident, as her aim had never let her down before. But the figure was sly, attempting to climb the nearest building near him, reaching for the balcony rails as support. Nina followed him, grabbing the icy metal. It was so slippery and entwined in ice, which made it most inconvenient- but what can you expect from winter- thought Nina. Still the gun in her hand, Nina forced herself to climb. But the man was brisker than her, already reaching for the top. Nina gained speed, knowing this was her last chance. But as she placed her hands on top of the building, she didn't feel stone, she felt spikes. With a silent scream, Nina released her bloody hands from the spikes, and hooked them around the icy metal bars- which caused even more agony. But knowing she would either have to withstand the pain or fall to her death, Nina chose the first option. The black figure was already far in her sight, but not far enough for a bullet. Nina grabbed the gun that lay on the spikes still, and with her experienced, dark eyes focused, aiming at the man. Pulling the steel trigger, the bullet dived straight into the man's skin. And after a short cry, he fell to the ground. Nina then picked up her communicator and proudly informed: "Object B16 successfully unconscious". And with that her rouge lips formed into another smile. She had yet again accomplished another mission.
