A Twist Of Unknown Prologue The tale of Queen Ramona and the city of Vienna had been passed down so many centuries, nobody remembers whether it was just a myth or not. When I was a child, my mother would always scare me into going bed with that story. I still remember my father telling her to quit putting nonsense into my head and her replying that it was to teach of past mistakes. I never understood what she meant by that. That is, until I had grown enough to realize what it was she was trying to tell me. It was then, that I had found what terrible dangers lay ahead of me. My name is Genevieve Norewood, but everyone calls me Eve. I'm the only child and daughter of Cyrus and Edris Norewood, King and Queen of Neviah. The city of ink. You see, every city has it's specialty. My city specializes in the ink that covers the body, permanently. We call them Vines. We call them that because they resemble actual vines from a tree. They wrap around your body and give you special abilities. They can heal wounds or give you courage, things as such. There are other special kinds of Vines that we call Ors, they're ink images we paint onto your body that give you the status of whatever the image is. They're beautiful things that make you feel powerful. Our neighboring city, Havana, specializes in industry; textiles, tool making and such things. The city of Cavick, just north of Havana, specializes in Mining; explosives and gold findings. Just east of them is Brewwick, the city of Academics; the smart ones one would say; the book keepers. And as for the city of Vienna, in which the legend says they were our other neighboring city; specialized in tinkering. They were the inventors. In the city of Vienna, Queen Thalia Ramona lived to torture those who lived in her kingdom. She punished them by whippings from small laws broken and always demanded to be showered with gifts that no one seemed to have, which only resulted in more punishments. It was a gruesome era that the city of Vienna lived in. The people eventually grew tired of Queen Ramona's tactics and rebelled. They overthrew her and people fought to claim the land of Vienna. It was then that the other cities decided to intervene. They came to a conclusion, destroy what remains of the city and forget the violent acts they caused. And even til this day does the story of Queen Ramona and city of Vienna live on. But there is no city of Vienna, or Queen Ramona. It was just a story told by parents to scare some behavior into their children. Nobody really believes in it, or if they do, they pretend not to. It's a cruel twist of fate that makes the blossoming cities to realize that the story they've been telling isn't entirely true, and there are consequences to face. And that the twist of the unknown is what reveals the cold hard truth and brings down even the best of kingdoms.
