Siren My cars nose had not seen the ground of the road where we last spoke. He wanted much less to do with me than I, him. I wanted his familiar world to crash into mine. Side streets were where I would drive. I needed something I remembered, I couldn't help but feel cliché, and I could help but feel cliché for saying it. It's hard to push off of a wall and leave it behind. Not all time is diamonds. Power and authority, something I craved so bad. I wanted to be told. Although I never did get the chance to. The side streets I'd taken so often led me round many corners and into odd dead ends. The confusion of my commute gave me solace that I would never be found. And while others seldom found me, I found my self on a one way parkway to his house. Four am was never a time when good things happened, I should have known better. As I drove more quickly to avoid lingering at the street where he lived, I found something I had not expected to find. I found him. But darkness never illuminated flesh very well. It wasn't until laying on the parkway in front of me that I saw him.
